Scoring System for Warners and Johnstone Jubilee
Leagues – 2001 Season

1.       For the Warners League and Johnstone Jubilee, the following non- standard system shall be used.

2.       Each boat starting a race shall be awarded one point.  Each boat finishing a race will be awarded two additional points plus one point for each boat that started but did not finish in front of her on handicap.

3.       Any boat unable to compete on a day solely because her usual helm and/or crew are on duty (duty, race or rescue), will be awarded league points equal to those scored by a boat finishing in fourth place if 4 or more boats scored day points, or last place if less than 4 boats scored day points.

4.       For each day’s sailing, the total points awarded to each boat will determine a position for the day.   League points will then be awarded for these day positions.  League points are awarded according to your position and the number of boats scoring day points thus :-

          1st place     = n points
2nd place    = n-1 points
3rd place     = n-2 points
etc down to;
nth place     = 1 point
where n      = number of boats scoring day points
These league points are those used to determine league positions.

 5.   If racing is abandoned on a day due to poor weather, equipment failure or

lack of competitors or duty officers (duty, race or rescue), boats registering

to compete and boats unable to compete solely because her usual helm

and/or crew were on duty will be awarded 2 league points.  If any races

are completed, then points will be awarded in accordance with paragraphs

   2, 3 and 4 above.

6.       There will be no discards.

7.       A boat that is disqualified following a protest shall score zero points for that race.

8.   A sailor who has knowingly infringed any of the rules referred to in sailing
instruction 1.1 must retire within 1 hour of coming ashore. If he/she fails to
do so and a valid protest is lodged against him/her, the result will be
disqualification and a score of zero points for the race or races concerned.
